تقع المملكة العربية السعودية في شبه الجزيرة العربية، وتتميز بتاريخها العريق ومكانتها المهمة في العالم الإسلامي. وقبل توحيد المملكة، كانت مناطق الجزيرة العربية تُعرف بأسماء وكيانات مختلفة، منها نجد والحجاز.
وُلد الملك عبدالعزيز بن عبدالرحمن آل سعود عام 1876م، ونشأ محبًا لوطنه، وكان يطمح إلى توحيد البلاد وجمع أهلها تحت راية واحدة. وفي عام 1902م، استطاع استعادة مدينة الرياض، وكانت هذه الخطوة بداية مرحلة جديدة في تاريخ المملكة العربية السعودية.
واصل الملك عبدالعزيز جهوده لتوحيد مناطق الجزيرة العربية، وعمل على نشر الأمن والاستقرار بين الناس. وفي عام 1926م، أصبح ملكًا على الحجاز، ثم اتحدت منطقتا نجد والحجاز تحت قيادته، وأصبح الكيان يُعرف باسم مملكة الحجاز ونجد وملحقاتها.
واستمر الملك عبدالعزيز في جهوده حتى اكتمل توحيد البلاد، وفي 23 سبتمبر 1932م، صدر إعلان توحيد البلاد تحت اسم المملكة العربية السعودية، وأصبح هذا اليوم مناسبة وطنية يحتفل بها السعوديون كل عام، ويُعرف باليوم الوطني السعودي.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is located in the Arabian Peninsula. It has a rich history and an important place in the Islamic world. Before the country was unified, different regions of the Arabian Peninsula were governed separately, including Najd and the Hejaz.
King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud was born in 1875. He loved his homeland and worked to unite its people under one flag. In 1902, he successfully recaptured the city of Riyadh. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the country.
King Abdulaziz continued his efforts to unite the different regions of the Arabian Peninsula and worked to establish peace and stability. In 1926, he became King of the Hejaz. Later, Najd and the Hejaz were united under his leadership, and the country was officially known as the Kingdom of Hejaz and Najd and Its Dependencies.
King Abdulaziz continued his efforts until the unification of the country was completed. On September 23, 1932, the unification of the country was officially announced under the name The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
September 23 became Saudi National Day, which is celebrated every year throughout the Kingdom.
